Gloucestershire Old Spots

The Gloucestershire Old Spot Pig

Here at Herwish our pork tastes so good because we cross the rare breed Gloucestershire Old Spots with the Wessex Saddle-back pig.

Gloucestershire Old Spots are the oldest official known breed in England and originated around the Berkeley Vale on the river Severn, south-west England and were usually kept on the famous local cider farms.

We like this aspect of the pigs history and are proud to say that our pigs at Herwish also eat the local Kentish apples that go to making Biddendens Cider. This, coupled with the successful breeding program with the Saddle-backs makes for a completely natural fine tasting pork hog roast.
