Late Spring, Long Winter

At long last the winter has come to an end and we are finally seeing the start of spring. Despite the bad weather (snow, colder than normal temperaatures for this time of year) we at Herwish have been busy with the erection of 2 new pig houses: A boar house 40x20 and an open plan free range pen 50x20. There was lots of action with concrete pumped in for the bases and all the Herwish animals looking on with great interest from their cosy pens.

We took the time out from our busy schedule to attend the Pig Paradise pig keeping course - which was brilliant fun, and really well presented (despite the awful weather) by knowledgeable and very friendly people. All in all well recommended for any rare breed pig keepers and we have begun implementing really helpful and positive changes into Herwish day to day running.

One to watch for the pork lovers out there: The Hairy Bikers Pork special recipes, just seen on the BBC recently yummy!
